Helen Bernhard Bakery

PROBLEM: Helen Bernhard Bakery, once a cornerstone of family celebrations, now faces the challenge of staying relevant and engaging younger generations, with a limited digital presence and outdated marketing strategies that threaten its long-standing community connection.

KEY INSIGHT: Younger generations crave authenticity and memorable experiences, but they engage with brands that meet them where they are—on digital platforms with modern, visually appealing content.

STRATEGY: Reinforce Helen Bernhard Bakery's community presence by running full-page magazine ads (Portland Monthly), offering baking classes, an updated social media page, and a rotating dessert-eating competition at the local farmers market to engage customers and showcase products.

Dessert Eating Competition

Host a monthly dessert-eating competition at the local farmers market, just three blocks from Helen Bernhard Bakery. Our decorated booth will feature a variety of baked goods for sale, along with a fun, free sugar cookie decorating station where kids and families can purchase the cookies, then decorate them at the booth with supplies provided by us. In addition each month, we'll feature a new dessert for the competition, giving customers a chance to sample different Helen Bernhard treats and enjoy a unique, interactive experience.
